The skin is an extremely complex and vital organ, and much remains to be learned about the causes of skin disease.
Modern dermatology has made tremendous advances from the days when doctors could only prescribe messy lotions and potions and new strong medication including biological therapy has revolutionised the care we can offer to many patients with skin disease.
She has been invited to lecture to a range of audiences including the National Eczema Society, Royal Society of Medicine, Primary Care Dermatology Society and British Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.

One of Dr Wakelin’s passions is helping to improve the understanding of skin disease for both doctors and patients.
Dr Wakelin prepares medicolegal reports for personal injury and clinical negligence claims on the instructions of a solicitor.
Her reports cover a range of skin complains including dermatis/eczema, psoriasis, pigmentary and hair disorders, and skin problems which have occurred in relation to cosmetic and beauty treatments.
Dr Wakelin does not prepare reports relating to laser therapy, chemical peels or dermal fillers as these are beyond her area of expertise.
Medicolegal consultations take place at the Lindo Wing, St Mary’s Hospital by special arrangement. For further information and details of fees and availability, please contact
