One of Dr Wakelin’s passions is helping to improve the understanding of skin disease amongst both doctors and patients.
The skin is an extremely complex and vital organ, and much remains to be learned about the causes of skin disease.
Modern dermatology has made tremendous advances from the days when doctors could only prescribe messy lotions and potions and new strong medication including biological therapy has revolutionised the care we can offer to many patients with skin disease
She has been invited to lecture to a range of audiences including the National Eczema Society, Royal Society of Medicine, Primary Care Dermatology Society and British Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.
